While living in The Bahamas, very few days went by where I didn't spend some amount of time in the ocean. Upon moving to Seattle, that completely changed. I went a year and a half without setting foot in the ocean - no snorkeling, diving, or swimming. So by the time the opportunity came up to spend two weeks exploring the Hawaiian Islands, I was in desperate need of some time in salt water and - WOW - did Hawaii deliver. The abundance of coral and sea turtles was incredible, and it felt amazing to be back in the water. Life above sea level didn't disappoint either: lush green rainforest and endless waterfalls were beautiful complements to life under the sea. Two weeks was not nearly enough time to explore Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island, so I hope to return soon.
